Superb staff satisfaction for 13th biggest employee owned business

17 July, 2014

City Health Care Partnership CIC’s recent annual survey to find out how colleagues feel about working at the company has come back with very positive results. People working at CHCP CIC feel that their work makes a difference and that they are supported to do a good job.

Since the company became a co-owned social business there’s been a 27% increase in those who said it communicated clearly what the business is trying to achieve and a 22% increase in staff who felt their role contributed to those aims. 88% of CHCP CIC employees said they would recommend its services to friends and family, with 45% indicating that they would be extremely likely to do so.

996 people (73% of staff) responded to the survey and 93% of staff say they feel trusted to do their job. Satisfaction with roles and responsibilities has increased, with 84% of staff feeling particularly positive about being able to perform duties to a standard they’re personally pleased with and the amount of responsibility they are given.

More than four fifths (84%) of colleagues are always aware of their goals and objectives and three quarters expressed job satisfaction. Since CHCP CIC left the NHS in 2010, 20% more colleagues feel able to do their jobs to a standard they’re pleased with and 22% more feel their good work is recognised.

Chief executive Andrew Burnell said, ‘These results are a testament to the growing confidence of our workforce and business and the results from our latest patient survey show that happy staff provide good services; 98% of our patients had trust and confidence in the person they saw. I am extremely pleased that so many people took the opportunity to feed back in this way and I hope we can continue to build on our success as an employer of choice.’

CHCP CIC’s commitment to its staff was underlined recently by the Investors in People Silver award and the company’s rating of 46 in the Top 100 best non-profit companies to work for.
