First round of small grants awarded to local community and voluntary groups

19 January, 2011

City Health Care Partnership has awarded its first round of small grants to six local voluntary and community groups representing a wide variety of activities across different communities of Hull and East Riding.

The successful groups who received up to £500 to support activities promoting health and wellbeing are: Looking Good Feeling Good in North Hull; Quaddy RG8 Football Team (North Hull); Cottingham Fitmums and Friends (Hull and East Riding); 1st Hornsea Scout Group (East Riding); Cruse Bereavement Care (Hull and East Riding); Beverley Cornerstone (Hull and East Riding).

Sam Barlow, Founder & Chair of Fitmums & Friends said, “On behalf of Fitmums & Friends we want to thank CHCP for the small grant that we were recently awarded.  This is very much appreciated.  We have two members due to attend a Leadership in Running Fitness course next month as a result of this support.  This is crucial for the club which has an ever increasing membership and we need to be sure that we can support all individuals appropriately by having trained Run Leaders.”

The CHCP Small Grants programme is open to local voluntary and community organisations and/or other not-for-profit organisations to apply for up to £500 maximum for activities, projects or one-off eventsin relation to health and wellbeing.  The deadline for the next round of applications is 1 March 2011.
