City Health Care Partnership CIC welcomes Brocklehurst Chemist
20 May, 2013
After several months of extremely positive negotiations, City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC) became the shareholder of Brocklehurst Chemist Ltd on 11 May 2013. Brocklehurst Chemist Ltd have provided community pharmacy services to the city of Hull since the 1930s and run three community pharmacy branches in West Hull, on Willerby Road, Hotham Road and Wold Road. These branches will continue to trade as Brocklehurst Chemist and previous directors Tim Burrows and Hilary Edmondson will continue to work for Brocklehurst as pharmacists.
Tim Burrows said, “We look forward to continuing to develop and deliver a range of quality community pharmacy services for the local population.”
CHCP CIC now runs five community pharmacies across Hull; the Brocklehurst branches will complement other City Health Pharmacy stores at Victoria Dock and Goodwin Parade on Walker Street, ensuring CHCP CIC is able to provide community pharmacies across the city and increasing excellent ‘added value’ services for the local community.
Andrew Burnell, chief executive of CHCP CIC said, “Being the Shareholder of Brocklehurst Chemist Ltd will give communities in those locations the chance to access other services offered by CHCP CIC, adding to health and wellbeing on offer, and is clearly a demonstration of our commitment as a social business. We are delighted to be working with Brocklehurst, which has a great name and history and excellent staff and we look forward to continuing to develop and deliver a range of quality community pharmacy services for the people of Hull.”
