Chronic Pain Management Service

Chronic Pain Management Service

Chronic Pain Management Service

The Chronic Pain Management Service offers a fully rounded service to patients in the community who live with chronic pain on a daily basis.

The service will ensure that patients with chronic pain are assessed and referred to the most appropriate health professional as soon as possible.

It is thought that the majority of patients with chronic pain can be managed within a pain management service based in the community, which will, where necessary, refer patients to hospital for specialist treatment only, e.g. for epidurals and radio frequency.

This means that patients can be seen more quickly and closer to home and have a local contact number for advice and information.

Patients must be referred to the Chronic Pain Management Service by the patient's own GP or they can come via the Community Physiotherapy Services in Hull and East Riding.

Patients must:

  • be 18 years of age or older
  • registered with a Hull or East Riding GP
  • have suffered chronic pain for 3 months or longer
  • not be already under the care of/awaiting an appointment with the Acute Trust Pain Management Service or the Humber NHS Foundation Trust Chronic Pain Service
