We’ve got the power!

01 July, 2016

Health and care providers City Health Care Partnership CIC have cemented their green credentials by having car charging points installed at their Business Support Centre at the Beacon in Hull.

CHCP CIC is part of a growing movement of businesses that see the wider benefits of encouraging hybrid or electric vehicle use. Plug in and charge up seems to be growing in popularity and chief executive Andrew Burnell is leading by example.

‘If I charge my car up before I leave home and again when I get to work, I can effectively do half my commute on electric power,’ he explained. ‘As a social business, we are committed to improving as many aspects of life as we can for the people who use our services, our colleagues and the wider community. Reducing the use of fossil fuels and protecting our environment is one way of doing this.

‘Our Business Support Centre is BREEAM certified, making a minimal impact on the environment in terms of heating, lighting and water use and uses solar panels to generate electricity, meaning our car charging points are even greener.’

CHCP CIC provide health and care services to people in Hull, the East Riding, Wigan, St Helens and Knowsley.
