About Us

About Us

A growing co-owned 'for better profit' business providing a wide range of health and care services  across numerous geographical areas (Hull, East Riding, Knowsley, Wigan and St Helens). A socially motivated company, our diversifying portfolio of businesses and registered charity allow us to invest into our services, staff and the communities in which we work.

Our services help minimise the need for acute care in hospital through early interventions, community-based treatment and promotion of healthy lifestyles.

We provide over 80 diverse services in community settings, including End of Life, District Nursing, TB Clinics, Community Paediatric Nursing, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Sexual Health, Dentistry, Public Health, Prison Health, GP Practices, Minor Injury Units, Eating Disorders and Psychological Wellbeing to name but a few. We employ around 1900 people.

We also run City Health Pharmacy Ltd, a retail, care home and wholesale pharmacy business and Tangerine Discretionary PCC Ltd, our contingency and risk business. Our charity, City Health Care Partnership Foundation, enables us to give extra support to the communities we work in.

At its core CHCP CIC is a social business, investing all profits from all our growing ventures into services, staff and the communities in which we work. Our recent Social Return on Investment audit showed a return of £38 for every £1 spent and our user survey showed that 96% of all respondents would recommend our services based on their overall experience.

History Matters...

City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC), previously NHS Hull provider services, officially formed on 1 June 2010 as an independent health services provider separate to the commissioning organisation, NHS Hull. We work as part of the NHS family in a similar way to GPs, Dentists and Pharmacies.

Eliminating Mixed Sex Accomodation (EMSA) - Declaration of compliance

City Health Care Partnership CIC is pleased to confirm that we are compliant with the Government’s requirement to eliminate mixed-sex accommodation, except when it is in the patient’s overall best interest, or reflects their personal choice. We have the necessary facilities, resources and culture to ensure that patients who are admitted to our hospitals will only share the room where they sleep with members of the same sex, and same-sex toilets and bathrooms will be close to their bed area. Sharing with members of the opposite sex will only happen when clinically necessary (for example where patients need specialist equipment or when patients actively choose to share (for instance within our intermediate care service for partners to share a room)

If our care should fall short of the required standard, we will report it. We will also set up an audit mechanism to make sure that we do not misclassify any of our reports. We will publish the results of that audit within our Quality Accounts.
