Patient Research Ambassador (PRA) role

What is a PRA?

A Patient Research Ambassador (PRA) is someone who promotes health research from a patient point of view. As a PRA you can help to ensure that people using our services have the best opportunities and choices about taking part in research studies.

A PRA could be a patient, a carer or a member of the public who has taken part in a research study before, or if not has a passion about getting people involved with research.

This is a new role, and the PRA will be able to shape it as it develops.

What does a PRA do?

This is a voluntary role, and in the first instance, you must be able to attend two virtual Research Oversight group meetings a year, which are 90 minutes.

The Research Oversight group is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the actions in line with CHCP’s Research Strategy.

What key skills are required?

* Ability to read the Research Oversight group report and papers prior to the meetings

* Access and ability to attend virtual Research Oversight Group meetings twice a year

* Awareness of the Be Part of Research website
