New system to cut sexual health waiting times

12 May, 2014

A new IT system is being installed at City Health Care Partnership CIC’s (CHCP CIC) sexual health services, based at Conifer in Wilberforce House in Hull city centre.

Carol Waudby, Operational Services Director for Specialist Community Services at CHCP CIC said, “The new system will mean that in the future we can book appointments for family planning and sexual health while still offering drop-in services. This will cut down on waiting times, something that our patients have asked for.”

In order to install the new system, Conifer will be closing early on Friday 16 May and the last patient will be seen at 2.30pm. The Saturday clinic will run as usual. The last drop-in appointment on Monday 19 May will be at 5.30pm. The service is asking that patients only contact them from Friday 8am until Monday at 5.30pm for emergencies.

There won’t be any impact on booked clinics or on the SHAWS service at Highlands Health Centre but the Hessle clinic on Monday evening will be emergencies only. There will be no impact on the services at Bridlington.

Mrs Waudby said, “Feedback from patients on our services is very positive but waiting times are something that has been identified as an area for improvement. We hope that the inconvenience over the weekend while we install the new system will be more than compensated for by an improvement in the service.

“I’d like to thank our patients in advance for bearing with us while we put these improvements in place.”

If you have any questions or concerns about accessing the service over the weekend, please ring 01482 336377.
