Meet the team
Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs)
SLTs assess and treat people with communication and / or swallowing difficulties related to a range of health conditions. This includes stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, motor-neuron disease and dementia. We also work with people who have longer term voice and fluency problems, such as stammering.
Following your assessment a block of treatment may be offered. The speech and language therapist will agree some goals for this treatment with you.
Associate Practitioners
If a block of treatment is agreed, this may be provided by one of the associate practitioners in our team. You will be offered either a home visit or a clinic appointment depending on availability. Associate practitioners are trained to carry out treatment and help you achieve your goals after you have been assessed by one of our speech and language therapists.
Administration Assistants
Our administration team are available Monday to Friday from 8.30am – 4.30pm. They will take messages for therapists / associate practitioners and arrange appointments. If they are unable to answer your call, you can leave a voicemail message. You can also contact the team by email on chcp.slt@nhs.net.
