Dementia support for family and friends
The Carers Information and Support Service (CISS) are taking to the road in order to raise awareness of dementia, particularly with family and friends of those affected. CISS will be offering information on what support is available, what you can do if you are concerned around memory loss and how to seek a diagnosis.

New course to help families understand dementia
‘Understanding Dementia and Responding Positively’ is a free evening course delivered by the Dementia Academy for family and friends of people with dementia. The course will be run by the Carers’ Information and Support Service (CISS) Care-About Project provided by City Health Care Partnership CIC.
Get control over your health with the Expert Patient Programme
The Expert Patient Programme is a free self-management course for people who have long term health conditions such as arthritis, heart disease, asthma, COPD, stroke recovery, chronic back pain, cancer, mild to moderate anxiety and depression and is run by volunteer tutors who are managing their own conditions.
Looking after someone? Know your rights
The Carers’ Information and Support Service (CISS) will be holding a coffee morning on 28th November between 10am and 1pm as part of Carers’ Rights Day. Free tea, coffee and cakes will be available as well as support workers on hand to provide advice and information on what carers may be entitled to. CISS is a service dedicated to supporting carers and is provided by City Health Care Partnership CIC (CHCP CIC).
