Are you 13-19? Get on Board with the Teen Screen Health Bus

03 August, 2010

City Health Care Partnership CIC has organised the Teen Screen Health Bus to tour Hull, making stops at various locations. The bus will open its doors to teenagers aged between 13-19 who need support, advice or even just a chat about a whole variety of issues, from healthy eating, smoking, HPV vaccines and sexual health.

The tour began on Monday 2 August, and completes its tour on the 26 August at Asda on Hessle Road.  On board teenagers can talk to a variety of specialist nurses regarding a range of subjects, which include healthy eating, relationships with their families, smoking, alcohol, sexual health advice and services. A separate private room aboard the bus is available for confidential discussion, advice and support if required.

Also available on the bus and across static sites across Hull, there will be the opportunity for girls, aged 16-19 to catch-up with their HPV Vaccines. This is open to those who have not had their HPV vaccines or those who need to continue with the vaccine program, in order to ensure vaccine supply, please ring us to  book your  HPV or to find out more information can call 617 953 or 617 906.

Carolyn Rabaud comments:

‘The Teen Screen health bus, provides a ‘one-stop shop’ for all teenagers aged 13-19, to attend with any questions or issues they may have about their health or even a chance to discuss problems at home.

It has given us the opportunity to get all of our relevant services together in one place, and actually go into the community and tour Hull.

Completion of all three doses of the  HPV Vaccine is very important to reduce the risks of  cervical cancer. Girls up to 19yrs are being urged to book an appointment if they need to complete the HPV Vaccine program, girls aged 16-19 who have not yet had the vaccine can still start the programme up to 31st August 2010. Don’t miss out, call and book on 617 953 or 617 906.’
