Facilities and Accomodation
Our unit has thirty beds:
- 14 single rooms with accessible, ensuite bathrooms
- 4 single bariatic rooms with specialist equipment and ensuite bathrooms
- 3 bays containing four beds in each with shared accessible bathroom facilities and specialist equipment
- A rehabilitation kitchen, to help you regain your skills in the kitchen so that you can go home to live independently
- On-call nursing system
- Communal lounge with TV
- Dining Area
- Physio Gym
- Fall sensors
- Choice of menus
You may be admitted to a single room when you arrive but this is usually only for a short time. After this we will move you into a shared bay to make way for new patients.
Laundry
There are no facilities to wash your clothes. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could arrange for family, friends, or a laundry service to collect and wash these for you.
Smoking/Vaping
Smoking is not permitted on East Riding Community Bedded Unit, East Riding Community Hospital, or grounds in line with government legislation.
Parking
Parking for visitors is at the front of the hospital. There is also an overflow car park at the rear of the building. Parking is free.
Alcohol & drugs
You or your visitors must not bring alcohol or drugs onto the unit. If visitors visit while under the influence or are found to possess alcohol or drugs, they will be asked to leave.
Zero tolerance
Verbal and physical abuse towards staff, patients or visitors will not be tolerated. This could result in services being withdrawn from you, and you may be asked to leave. The decision may be made to call the police.
Flowers
We are unable to accept flowers on the unit.
