Podiatry Assistants

Podiatry Assitants provide ‘footcare clinics’ within community. They also assist a podiatrist with routine care, wound care, and nail surgery clinics. They provide:

Nail cutting in the community
Annual foot checks and give advice on how to correctly take care of your feet
Refer patients to a podiatrist if necessary

Podiatry Apprentices

Podiatry Apprentices work as podiatry assistants whilst completing a degree to become a fully qualified podiatrist. They work part time and attend university part time. You may be asked if your treatment can be performed by one of our apprentices.

Podiatrists

Podiatrist are degree qualified health professionals who:

Assess your need for podiatry care
Carry out annual foot checks and give advice on correct care for your feet
Provide routine care for corns or calluses on moderate to high-risk patients
Carry out nail surgery procedures in the community
Provide MSK (muscoloskeletal) assessments and treatments

Specialist & Advanced Podiatrists

Our specialist and advanced Podiatrists have a wealth of experience. They provide all the same care as a Podiarist as well as:

Routine care on high-risk patients
Wound care for patients with new or existing wounds on the foot
Referrals into other health professional departments for example orthotics and vascular consultants

Put Your Best Foot Forward for Foot Health Month

This April is Foot Health month, a chance to check that our feet are getting the care and attention that they need. Jennie Laney, Specialist Podiatrist for the Hull & East Riding Podiatry Service, CHCP CIC is looking to raise awareness of the importance of good foot health, as part of this campaign from the College of Podiatry.
