Podiatry Assistants
Podiatry Assistants help the team with routine care, wound care, and nail surgery clinics. They provide:
- Monitoring of foot conditions and onward referral to a podiatrist where needed
- Complete assessments and basic care under the guidance of a podiatrist
- Foot care advice
Podiatry Apprentices
Podiatry Apprentices are training to become a registered podiatrist whilst working. They work part time and attend university part time. You may be asked if your treatment can be performed by one of our apprentices.
Podiatrists
Podiatrist are registered health professionals who:
- Assess your need for podiatry care
- Complete assessments, review conditions and give advice on foot care
- Provide routine care for corns or calluses on high-risk patients
- Carry out nail surgery procedures in the community
- Provide MSK (muscoloskeletal) assessments and treatments
Specialist & Advanced Podiatrists
Our specialist and advanced Podiatrists have a wealth of experience. They provide all the same care as a Podiarist as well as:
- Wound care for patients with new or existing wounds on the foot
- Referrals into other health professional departments for example orthotics and vascular consultants
Prescribing Podiatrists
Podiatrists that also can provide:
- Prescription medications/treatments for foot related complications
