Tissue Viability
Tissue Viability is a nurse led service dedicated to the prevention, assessment, and management of wounds and skin health. We provide specialist advice on wound healing.
You will receive care at one of our treatment rooms, or in your own home if you are housebound.
How to access the service
You must be referred by a health professional, like a doctor or nurse.
You must:
- Be registered with a Hull or East Riding GP
Inclusions
- Category 3 and 4 pressure ulcers.
- Leg ulcers that have failed to progress following 4 weeks of treatment.
- Lymphoedema with open wound/s
- Moisture associated skin damage (MASD) if failing to resolve with treatment.
- Fungating/malignant wounds when advice on symptom management is required.
- Other non-healing wounds i.e. dehisced (ruptured) surgical wounds
Exclusions:
- Category 1 and 2 pressure ulcers & ordering of pressure relieving equipment
- MASD prevention
- Lymphoedema with no wounds
- Dermatological conditions
- New presentation foot ulcers. These MUST be referred to Podiatry.
